Danny Ng

Danny Ng, Managing Director, joined Boston Portfolio Advisors in 2013. Mr. Ng focuses on mortgage/ consumer/commercial/alternative asset loan portfolio performance, data analytics/management and credit risk management.

He has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry serving large banks, hedge fund and capital markets clients. At BPA, he has led and participated in numerous client engagements including residential mortgage settlement and compliance monitorship, MBS settlements litigation support, sub-performing single family leases/rentals, defaulted student loans/receivables recovery/reconciliation, commercial loan origination/servicing, asset valuations and marketplace lending oversight involving portfolio and servicer performance, conversion, business process improvements, data mining and analytics, project/program management and systems/technology.

At the onset of the financial crisis in 2008, Mr. Ng led the Portfolio Risk Mitigation program at E*TRADE, where he was responsible for performance improvement and risk mitigation on a $30+ Billion sub-performing residential mortgage and home equity loan portfolio with 40+ servicers. He drove numerous high impact programs and achieved over $1.5 Billion of credit loss aversion — implemented special servicing, developed/ implemented innovative analytical behavior scorecards for loss mitigation and collections campaigns, reduced capital usage, and improved profits with lower required allowances/ provisions, while improving OCC/CFPB regulatory compliance and managing a $120 Million annual budget. He joined E*TRADE in 2001 and was responsible for technology for its Mortgage, Global Asset Management and Consumer Services businesses in origination, servicing, trading/hedging, risk management, asset management and financials.

Prior to E*TRADE, Mr. Ng spent 3 years with Bank of America, where he spearheaded the business applications and ecommerce strategy and execution for the retail, wholesale, and correspondent lending divisions, and the $140 Billion servicing portfolio. Prior, Mr. Ng spent 9 years with Wells Fargo, where he was responsible for the mortgage systems and models for the mortgage master servicing, securitization, and the asset management technology for the structured finance businesses of MBS, ABS, and Public Finance with $200+ Billion AUM.

Mr. Ng has a B.S. in Computer Science (summa cum laude) from State University of New York at Buffalo, and a M.S. in Computer Science from The University of Oklahoma.
